RULES
Out Of Bounds.
Beyond any hedge, fence or wall bounding the course. The clubhouse, car parks and greenkeeper's compound at the 10th hole. The reservoir the 6th holes out of bounds within the surrounding white posts and any ball lying within shall be regarded as a lost ball. The area is dangerous and under no circumstances should a player attempt to recover the ball. The player shall play a ball, under penalty of one stroke, as near as possible at the spot from which the original ball was played (Rule 20-5).
Water Hazards
Water hazards are indicated by yellow stakes or lines and lateral water hazards are indicated by red stakes or lines (Rule 26).
Footpath
The fencing demarcating the public footpath crossing the 12th and 13th holes is an immovable obstruction (Rule 24-2). Players are to give priority to the public using the footpaths crossing the 10th, 12th and 13th holes at all times.
Practice Areas
The practice areas between the 9th and the 10th an to the right of the 17th and 18th holes are an integral part of the course and have been demarcated by blue stakes in accordance with (Rule33-2c). On any day of a stroke play competition practice is permitted only within these areas. (Rule7-1b).
Protections of young trees
If a young tree identified by a stake or plastic tube interferes with a players stance or the area of his intended swing, the ball must be lifted, without penalty, and dropped in accordance with procedures prescribed in (Rule 24-2b).
Ground Under Repair.
If a players ball lies in an area designated 'Ground Under Repair', or the area interferes with the players stance or the area of his intended swing, the player must take relief (Rule 25-1).
Stones in Bunkers.
Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions (Rule24-1).
Fixed Sprinkler Heads.
All fixed sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and relief from interference by them may be obtained under Rule 24-2, In addition, if the ball lies off the putting green but not in the hazard and such an obstruction within two club lengths of the putting green and within two club lengths of the ball intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the players may take relief as follows: The ball shall be lifted and dropped at the nearest point to where the ball lay which a) is not nearer the hole b) avoids such intervention and c) is not in a hazard or on a putting green. The ball may be cleaned when so lifted.
Spare Holes and Hole plugs on Greens.
Please note that a spare hole on the green and covered with a hole plug is 'a hole made by the greenkeeper' and relief may be taken under Rule25-1biii.
