MANSELL MARCHES ON

After winning the county foursomes and county championship Ashley Mansell added Clevedon’s 36-hole Club Championship his impressive list of honours.

Fine weather certainly ensured good performances and on the first day Mansell shot a solid 73. On day two Mansell again made a steady start but as the opposition fell away tension melted and he finished strongly with birdies on three of the final four holes to card a two under par total of 142.

Running simultaneously, the Ladies Championship was won by Lizzie Stephens. On the first day an inconsistent performance over the back nine resulted in her scoring 80 gross but on Day 2 consecutive birdies on the 12th and 13th holes enabled her to head the leader board with a score of 159 gross.
