CLEVEDON GOLF CLUB – REPORT
Congratulations go to Ashley Mansell in winning the West of England Amateur Match Play Championship.
Ashley came 5th in the top 32 of the War Memorial Trophy at Burnham & Berrow, which qualified him for the West of England Match Play Championship.
Supported by several Clevedon members he then won thorough to the 36 hole final yesterday where he was victorious by 4&3 over Tom Workman, a +2 handicapper from Stinchcome Hill.
The standard of golf was very high, especially from the West of England back tees at Burnham & Berrow which have been moved even further back on several holes, with Ashley scoring 32 on the front 9 holes of the afternoon round.
