2008 Roll of Honour
2008 has been a memorable year for the Junior section of Clevedon Golf Club. Past and present members have achieved considerable success both individually and as a team.
The team won the Bristol & District Junior League for the first time in their history. Throughout the season, a total of 19 juniors represented the club in league and cup games.
The Juniors were led by captain Ashley Mansell, who also enjoyed a spectacular year individually. He succesfully defended his position as the Open Champion of the Club - a result that won him an invitation to compete amongst the professionals at the Jamega Tour event held at Clevedon in July. Ashley finished in 3rd position overall, a splendid achievement for an amateur player.
Three former members of the Junior Section are competing upon the professional circuit, and are all still proudly representing the Club at this level.
Pride of place goes to John E.Morgan who recently regained his place on the main European Tour for 2009 after finishing in 17th position on the Challenge Tour. His season ended in an exciting tie for second place at the Grand Final in Italy.
Brothers Daniel and Robert Perrett also had solid starts to their professional careers. In their first seasons on the circuit, they both enjoyed Top 70 finishes in the Europro Tour, but Robert just edged ahead of Dan in the money stakes by virtue of 13th place finish on the Jamega Tour.
We are very proud of all past and present members of our Junior Section.
